A Regional Network of Trails for the Mid-Atlantic States conference had been planned for months. I had put together a short presentation on what we were doing for trails in South Carolina. It was unfortunate that the conference was a couple of weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks. The organizers decided to go ahead with the conference. Was eerie being in a hotel across the from the Pentagon.
