Sandra and I first biked the Creeper in 1997 when we were living in Columbia, SC. We have been back many times to bike  the Creeper, hike the Appalachian Trail, enjoy Trail Days, and just have a good time. I’ve taken the shuttle from Damascus, VA to Whitetop Station a few times. I’ve always taken the Sundog Outfitter Shuttle because they are friendly, reliable, and located right next to the Trail in Damascus. It’s a 30 minute drive to Whitetop and a two hour 17 mile mostly downhill ride back to Damascus. What fun. If you want to get a photo at the North Carolina State Line, when the shuttle drops you off head right instead of left. The Stateline is about a mile up the trail. Then you can turn around and head downhill. From Damascus the next 17 miles to Abingdon, VA is mostly rolling trail through farm land. I look forward to many more rides on the Creeper.
