Sandra and I first biked the Heritage Rail Trail back in 2002 when we were living in Maryland. We biked to York and stayed overnight in a B&B and biked back to our car the next day.

As  part of my Hall of Fame Quest I biked it again on October 5, 2016. I also  biked the Torry C. Brown Rail Trail on the same trip. It’s really nice to have these longer rail-trails in the East. You have these really big and busy cities, but just a little ways out you’re in beautiful country with rolling hills, rivers, and farm land. You also bike through small towns. It’s such an enjoyable experience. There’s now a two mile extension north of York. I drove to the trailhead instead of trying to bike through York. This was my 26th Hall of Fame Rail-Trail. I plan to bike the final four next summer. Time to head back to Black Mtn, NC and settle in the for winter.
