Shortly after moving to Black Mountain, NC I bought the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy guidebook: Rail-Trails Southeast. While living in Florida I biked all the paved rail-trails in the State and thought it would be fun to find more paved trails in the southeast near where we live now.  I love riding my recumbent on paved trails away from traffic. The longer trails near here I’ve been on in the past were natural surface (Virginia Creeper and New River Trail both in Virginia). Was great to find out about the Silver Comet Trail and Chief Ladiga Trail . I had ridden the Silver Comet a couple weeks back. It is a concrete trail and the Chief Ladiga is asphalt. I enjoyed biking through the forest and countryside with all the farms. I started on May 31 in the City of Piedmont, AL and biked to the Georgia border and back. Then came back the next day and biked to Anniston, AL and back. Really enjoyed the small towns.
