It’s early November and I was in Tucson, AZ to attend the 14th biennial National Scenic and Historic Trails Conference hosted by the Partnership for the National Trails System. I was representing the Florida National Scenic Trail. This was my last year as the US Forest Service administrator for the Trail. During the conference breaks I got out on the local trails. Today I rented a mtn bike. The shop was on the east side of town and they told me about nearby trails. I was able to bicycle south on a bike path parallel to Harrison Road to Fantasy Island and rode a loop on dirt trails. There’s lots of loops constructed on State Trust Land. Pretty neat to be so close to town.
