It’s early November and I was in Tucson, AZ to attend the 14th biennial National Scenic and Historic Trails Conference hosted by the Partnership for the National Trails System. I was representing the Florida National Scenic Trail. This was my last year as the US Forest Service administrator for the Trail. During the conference breaks I got out on the local trails. Today I rented a mtn bike to bicycle along the paved Rillito River Trail that runs east and west on the north side of town. Sandra and I lived here in the early 1990s and this was one of the trails I biked many times. Great to see new bridges and more trail added. Most of the year you’re bicycling along a dry river bed. I saw a coyote running near the trail.
