We’re back on the Appalachian Trail. Sandra thru-hiked the AT in 2001 and we stayed at the Len Foote Hike Inn back in 1999. We drove from Tallahassee, Fl (where we lived from 2005 to 2014) to Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia to start our journey. First we checked out the displays in the Visitor Center and took pics of the Appalachian Trail plaques and off we hiked to the Inn.

What a neat place to stay in the woods. We enjoyed the family style dinner, a good nights, sleep, and family style breakfast the next day.

We spent the day on a 9 mile round trip hike to the top of Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,189-mile Appalachian Trail. We spent another night in the Hike Inn.

The next day we hiked 5 miles back down to Amicalola Falls State Park and our car. This is a different trail than the one we hiked the first day.
