Saturday, August 29 – Sandra and I are in Park City, UT so I can attend my first American Trails Board meeting. Twelve of us met at 7:30 am. Since this was my first meeting I was given some time to talk about my trail experiences. During our lunch break we walked on the Union Pacific Rail Trail. Then we walked to Chamber to watch at video about Tom Whittaker, who’ll be the closing speaker at the upcoming National Trails Symposium. He climbed Mt. Everest this year – first disabled person to do so. He is missing a foot. We all walked back to hotel to continue meeting until 6 pm. Got Sandra and we all got on a special bus that took us to Nacho Mama’s for a group dinner. Sandra and I walked back to hotel after dinner.

Sunday, August 30 – Board meeting started at 8 am. We met until 3 pm. Lunch was catered. Lots to cover. After the meeting Sandra and I rented Trek mtn bikes and rode some of the Union Pacific Rail Trail. We got back to hotel at 7 pm. We met the group downtown at a Sushi bar for dinner. We all went back to hotel and sat in lobby to discuss more Board business. Finished up at 10 pm. My first Board meeting is over.
