While we were in Park City, UT for the American Trails Board meeting we rented Trek mountain bikes. Sandra and I biked and also hiked short sections of the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park. It is paved in town then turns to crushed stone. I went on a really long ride by myself, turns out too long. Had a flat and no patch kit. A local Mormon teenager gave me a lift back to Park City in his pickup. Guys at the bike shop say they never include patch kits with rental bikes because no ever bikes far. They were amazed I made it so far before being laid low by a thorn. The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park was selected as the 24th member of the Rail Trail Hall of Fame.
